Here are the main elements you will learn from a Jikiden Reiki Shoden course…

  • The history and meaning behind the Reiki system, characters, and symbols
  • How it works in conjunction with the body’s natural healing systems
  • How to heal yourself and others
  • Where to treat, by feeling blockages/toxins (byosen)
  • First aid techniques for cuts, bruises and burns
  • A revitalising massage technique (Ketsueki Kokan Ho)
  • How to develop your sensitivity (Hatsurei Ho)
  • Practical hands on treatments
  • You will also receive attunements to reconnect you to the energy around us


During this workshop you will:


  • receive 3 reiju or attunements
  • learn about the history of Reiki
  • learn about the 5 principles Usui devised and the history behind them
  • learn how to treat people using the concept of byosen (feeling for areas that have more toxins and need treatment) 
  • learn the important meaning behind a symbol used in areas that need more Reiki and how and when to use it
  • learn a massage treatment taught by Mikao Usui and further enhanced by Chujiro Hayashi because of his medical training
  • learn techniques for enhancing the sensitivity in your hands and practicing at home
  • give and receive Reiki treatments and have practice sessions with other participants    

Shoden  – parts 1,2, and 3 are taught over 2 days
